Tasting notes
Opaque ruby. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes ripe blackberry and blueberry, candied violet and smoky minerals, lifted by a peppery topnote. Concentrated and broad on the palate, offering powerful dark berry and cherry cola flavors and suave back-end floral character. Finishes sweet and very long, with mounting tannins and lingering spiciness.

More precise and elegant than the richer, more exuberant 2009, the 2010 Cornas has lots of black and blue fruits, iron, crushed rock, olive and bay leaf to go with a medium to full-bodied, fresh, focused and nicely structured feel on the palate. I like the density of the 2009 more, but this has beautiful purity of fruit, good acidity and fine tannin. Give it 2-3 years and drink over the following 10-12 years.
