Tasting notes
Roses, violets, incense, cinnamon and hints of candied orange rise up to form a perfumed bouquet on the 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Vaio Armaron. It continues to gain volume and richness with each passing minute, further adding to its already alluring persona. Velvety-smooth yet lifted and poised, this impresses with notes of sour cherry sauce and dark chocolate, all supported by juicy acids as the slightest hint of tannin collects toward the close. There’s still so much structure and power in the 2008, but that’s not to say you can’t enjoy this textural beauty already. Very nice. This was sampled from a late-release bottle from the winery.

The 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Serego Alighieri Vaio Armaron opens to tight aromas of dried fruit and spice with characteristic background notes of grilled herb, tobacco, leather and Spanish cedar. The wine also shows beautiful intensity in the mouth where its thick consistency leaves lasting flavors of dark fruit and smoke: Drink now or hold up to ten years.
