Tasting notes
Barbaresco. Full blown, no holding back fruit cake and sweet oak. Voluptuous and sweet and rich and with the first signs of oxidation. Lots of tannins, but almost no match for the huge fruit density. (WS)

The 2003 Bricco Asili seems to have suffered more severely from the intense heat. It displays plenty of earthiness, vanilla, toasted oak, cola and ripe small red fruit nuances with promising length, but the finish is dominated by hard, unripe tannins. Bottle age will only help to a limited extent.
