Tasting notes
Remarkable that this is still showing so well. Pale gold. Smells quite similar to the 1999 but more yeasty. More honeyed on the palate. Orange notes too. Orange zest, apples and citrus zest. Definitely mature but still giving lots of pleasure.

Disgorged December 2000. Very autolytic. Caramel, toffee, dried fruit. Brilliant but towards the end of its life, and entirely different from the 1996 – lacks the vitality and spritz. (RH)
Wonderfully fresh and vibrant for an 11-year-old wine, this beautifully balanced bubbly combines lively lemon, apple and vanilla flavors in a creamy-smooth texture. Great to drink now, or hold through 1999. Has matured nicely since first reviewed in 1991.
