Lemon, white peach and white flowers on the vibrant nose. Juicy, pliant and intense, displaying excellent inner-mouth aromatic lift to its ripe flavors of lemon oil and pear. Ripe acidity energizes the mid-palate and extends the finish. Very successful in 2014. In fact, Frédéric Barnier noted that this was one of the rare vintages with no frost or hail in this vineyard.

The 2014 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot has a sprightly bouquet with lemon curd and almond infusing with the citrus fruit -- like the Chassagne La Romanée, lively and engaging. The palate is fresh and vibrant with tinned apricot and peach on the entry, a dash of lemongrass, but perhaps not quite the same detail as the La Romanée on the finish. Still, this is very fine.

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
