Score 98/100 · Drink 2026-2040, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Mar 2026

The 2024 Quiñón de Valmira was bottled four weeks before we tasted it. It's mainly Garnacha, but it also includes 7% Tinta Velasco, 7% Bobal and 1% Moristel. The grapes were picked the 12th of October and fermented with some full clusters in oak vats with indigenous yeasts and 37 days of maceration, then it aged in oak vats for 13 months. Last year, we already discussed how 2024 resembles 2021 a bit. It has a subtle and nuanced nose, a little shy and closed at first but detailed and with filigree. It has a moderate 13.5% alcohol, balanced by a pH of 3.59 and 5.15 grams of acidity, very similar parameters to the 2023, denoting contained ripeness. It comes through as very balanced and fresh with great elegance and complexity. 4,719 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2026.
