Score 94/100 · James Suckling, Jul 2021

Still youthful and tightly wound with fresh pineapple and hints of vanilla and gardenia. Concentrated, cool and sleek with a very silky texture, the mineral acidity pushing the finish out a long way. Chalky finale! Vinified in 500-liter barrels, but no new oak. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

The 2019 Chablis Bougros Grand Cru is fermented in used 500-liter barrels. It has a fresh bouquet with more intensity than the Mont de Milieu, featuring red apples mixed with gunflint and light orange blossom aromas. The palate is well balanced with grapefruit and touches of passion fruit on the entry. There is admirable weight here, and fine acidity. The approachable finish shows a tang of spice on the aftertaste.
