Although this has enormously deep blackberry character, the savory and smoky notes are every bit as important to this bold and highly structured cabernet. Giant concentration at the spectacular finish, but the tannins are already pretty well integrated. Such purity.

Dark and intense with a ton of blackberries and ripe cassis on the nose and just a hint of mint. Concentrated and powerful but well proportioned. The generous tannins are also very polished and balanced by delicate sweetness through the lingering finish.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Home Vineyard shows the more voluptuous side of St. Helena, as opposed to the Chabot, which is distinctly more mineral in style. Soft curves and racy fruit give the Home its immediacy and sheer appeal. Time in the glass allows the wine's breadth and textural richness to come through beautifully in generous dark fruit, chocolate, spice and leather flavors. (AG)
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon St Helena Home Vineyard (100% Cabernet), aged 21 months in 47% new French oak, has a deep garnet-purple color with warm plums, blackberry preserves and crème de cassis leaping from the glass with nuances of tobacco, iron ore and cedar chest. Full-bodied with a rock-solid frame of ripe, grainy tannins, it has oodles of freshness lifting the intense flavors to a long finish. (LPB) 95+
