Tasting notes
The lavishly rich, exotic 2000 Pinot Noir Moonshine Ranch (14.2% alcohol) offers up aromas of blackberry and cherry liqueur intermixed with smoke, flowers, and sweet oak. It is dense, full-bodied, concentrated, and long, with a tangy backbone of acidity. It should drink well for 7-8 years. Tel. (707) 525-0570; Fax (707) 525-9463

Good dark red. Black cherry and a hint of earth on the nose. Sweet on entry, then rather unforthcoming in the middle and not currently revealing itself. In a drier style but offers good flavor intensity.
About the producer

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
