Tasting notes
The 2011 Gabbro (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is a decadent, rich and inviting wine from start to finish. It never seems to slow down no matter how long it sits in the glass. The wine is endowed with a brilliant sense of energy and vitality that is almost impossible to find across this hot vintage. Dark fruit and spice are merged together seamlessly. The wine is smooth, supple and impeccable. Excellent tannic management offers impressive balance and harmony. This bottle will be best enjoyed in five years' time.

Montepeloso's 2011 Gabbro (Cabernet Sauvignon) continues to come together in bottle. The warmth of the year has baked out some of the varietal notes that are usually present. Instead, the 2011 stands out for its intensity, volume and extroverted personality. In other words, exactly what one might expect from Suvereto in a warm year. Blackberry jam, mocha, smoke and tobacco all flow through to the huge finish.
