I think a step back from the sensational looking 2015, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is still a killer wine. From volcanic soils similar to Pritchard Hill and aged 30 months in barrel, this full-bodied, seriously concentrated beauty gives up loads of currants, truffle, smoked meats, and spicy oak. It’s concentrated, deep and layered, and while it has the charming style of the vintage, it’s going to age beautifully.

The inaugural vintage 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from 412 clone from two different blocks: B Block and D Block. It was aged for 30 months in 100% new French oak. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has a blackcurrant cordial, blackberry pie and mocha-scented nose with hints of baking spices, underbrush and crushed rocks. The medium to full-bodied palate is beautifully textured by approachable, ripe, fine-grained tannins, with plenty of freshness and persistent earthy layers. 108 cases were made.
