Bright pale yellow. Multidimensional nose combines lemon, lime, grapefruit, quinine, wet stone and oyster shell. Juicy, pure and extremely intense, with powerfully mineral flavors of white grapefruit, fresh pineapple and soft citrus fruits offering terrific cut. At once supple and tensile, with uncanny depth of flavor for California sauvignon blanc. Finishes with superb length and floral lift. A great vintage for this bottling. Morlet served this wine as a palate-clearer between his chardonnays and red wines, and it wiped my slate clean.
