Tasting notes
The 2016 Moulin-à-Vent Vieilles Vignes offers up attractive aromas of plums, cherries and dark chocolate that are subtly inflected by recently used cooperage, followed by a medium-bodied, fleshy palate framed by powdery but youthfully chewy tannins. While the hail that marked this vintage in Moulin-à-Vent does seem to be in play, this is a very creditable effort in a challenging year.

First vintage was 2014. Juicy and fun with pace. Not expensive! (JR)
Bright ruby. A highly fragrant bouquet evokes fresh red berries, pungent flowers and peppery spices, and a minerally nuance emerges with air. Juicy, focused and seamless in texture, offering lively boysenberry and bitter cherry flavors that become sweeter on the back half. Shows energetic thrust and very good clarity on the long, gently tannic finish, which leaves a spicy white pepper note behind.
