Tasting notes
Myriad's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Rarefied Air comes from an undisclosed single vineyard and is available only as magnums, of which 300 were made. It's a dark purple-hued wine but with surprising lift and freshness on the nose, offering up hints of violets alongside deeper notes of mocha and purple raspberries combined with blueberries and cassis. Full-bodied, concentrated and ripe, it's creamy in texture across the mid-palate, then ends with a flourish of cedar, vanilla and allspice. It's a big boy, yet it's not clumsy or overdone, labeled at a reasonable 14.2% alcohol (although I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it were higher).

Released only in magnum and a blend from multiple vineyards (I'm assuming, since they're tight lipped on the fruit for this), the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Rarefied Air is another pure, seamless, incredibly impressive wine delivering those classic Napa Valley cassis and blue fruit nuances as well as notes of lead pencil shavings, unsmoked tobacco, and a hot stone, earth-like minerality. This full-bodied, rich, powerful 2019 has ripe tannins, a layered, concentrated mouthfeel, and a one heck of a finish. It's another sensational wine in the lineup that can be enjoyed any time over the coming decade or more.
A new wine and only released in magnum, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Rarefied Air boasts a fantastic bouquet of crème de cassis, blueberries, sweet earth, violets, tobacco, and spring flowers. With a magical, full-bodied texture that carries lots of tannins and mid-palate depth, it just glides over the palate with no sensation of weight or heaviness, flawless balance, and a great finish. It's a big, rich wine, yet it shines just as much for its elegance. This is another tour de force in wine from winemaker Mike Smith
