Tasting notes
The 2022 Pinot Noir Santa Cruz Mountains has seen its profile rise alongside that of Mt. Pajaro, which makes up 40% of its blend. The nose is quintessential Santa Cruz Mountains: coniferous, oceanic and elegant, beautifully melding with the bright nature of the vintage. The palate is lush but light-footed, with a sleek, succulent texture lined with juicy acidity and slight drying, bead-like tannins that should further integrate with a year or so in bottle.

The 2022 Pinot Noir (Santa Cruz Mountains) is an absolute delight, not to mention a terrific introduction to this range. Fresh, floral and gracious, the appellation Pinot drinks well even in the early going. Crushed flowers, red berry fruit and a gentle hint of spice caress the palate. More than anything else, I am impressed with the wine's balance and overall poise. - Antonio Galloni
