The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is bold, delicious wine. Black cherry, leather, spice, tobacco, menthol and espresso are nicely lifted. The 2015 has reached its tenth birthday in style. It’s fully mature, so I would not push my luck on aging this further. This is a vintage with a relatively low percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Mount Veeder) is by far the most refined of the wines I tasted at O'Shaughnessy. Sweet floral notes, bright red-toned fruit and mid-weight structure give the 2015 much of its distinctive personality and feel. Next to the other 2015s here, the Mount Veeder Cabernet is lifted, polished and impeccably gracious. O'Shaughnessy's Mount Veeder site seems to have handled the rigors of the growing season far better than Howell Mountain.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has an enticing earthy/meaty/savory nose with a baked plums and crème de cassis core over chargrill and garrigue hints plus a waft of tapenade. The full-bodied palate is relatively restrained and earthy in nature, featuring muscular fruit and firm, chewy tannins, finishing on a lingering mineral note.
