Score 95/100 · Drink 2019-2030, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Sep 2019

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum, containing 2% Petit Verdot, is deep ruby-black in color and offers aromas of cast iron pan, graphite, toasted cumin, star anise and old leather with dried red and black cherries, cedar, cigars, bitter chocolate and loads of red fruit and herb sparks. It's medium-bodied, silky and lush with a lovely interplay of tertiary and fruit flavors. It has a frame of cocoa powder-like tannins, retaining great freshness and finishing very, very long and layered. This is just stunning to drink right now! 865 cases produced.

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum was even better and still has a youthful feel. Black fruits, graphite, chocolate, and charcoal notes give way to a rich, powerful, full-bodied beauty that has sweet tannin and an intense, length mouthfeel. Drink it over the coming decade or so.

A rush of black cherry, smoke, torrefaction, new leather and licorice make a strong opening statement in the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum. Rich, powerful and heavily extracted, the 2007 shows the style that was in vogue a decade ago, and yet also retains tremendous depth. It will drink well for another decade or more. The Annum is the most overtly ripe wine in this range. At times, the alcohol peeks through. Otherwise, the 2007 is nicely rendered. Fruit sources are J. Davies and Larkmead.

(includes 2% petit verdot) Inky ruby. Sexy raspberry and cassis on the nose, with complicating notes of incense and cigar box. Densely packed red and dark fruit flavors are framed by chewy tannins and pick up a bitter chocolate quality with air. Showing its structure more than it did last year, finishing very long, with pungent dark berry flavors and lingering spiciness. Pretty serious stuff, and built for aging.
