Score 90/100 · Drink 2014-2019, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2014

The 2011 Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast) is beautifully lifted, aromatic and pure. Crushed flowers, sweet red berries, mint, licorice and earthiness all take shape as the wine opens up in the glass. The style is delicate, ethereal and feminine. I imagine the 2011 is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Today, it is hugely appealing. The 2011 is mostly estate fruit, with a dollop of Campbell Ranch.

1,100 c/s. Nick Peay (grape grower) and partner Vanessa Wong (winemaker, formerly at Peter Michael).  Bright, lightish crimson. Ripe sweet cherry. Cherry pie and a hint of vanilla. Tart cherry intensity on the palate. Focus on the fruit but not overly sweet. Not fleshy in the middle. Focused. Dry finish. (JH)
