The 2016 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge packs a serious punch. Dark, powerful and intense, with beams of persistent tannins underneath, the Blue Slide Ridge speaks with a commanding voice. This is a decidedly broad, ample Pinot with good depth, but also a bit of chunkiness that hopefully will soften over time. It will be interesting to see if the 2016 acquires a bit more energy with more time in bottle. (Drink between 2021-2031)
About the producer

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
