Tasting notes
The 2021 Pinot Noir Ryan is plump, juicy and ready to go. Succulent dark cherry, plum, spice, new leather and cedar are front and center. This effusive, plush Pinot offers plenty of charm. The 2022 is a blend of 56% from Widdoes Vineyard and 44% from the Swan Clone portion of Dutton-Jentoft.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Dutton-Jentoft Vineyard emerges from the steepest portion of the vineyard, a section planted with Calera clone. Plush and super-concentrated, the 2021 saturates the palate with intense red plum and blood orange fruit. The Jentoft always has an exotic quality, as it does again in 2021. It's a classic DuMOL Pinot. This vineyard is not very well known by name, but it consistently yields Pinots of world-class quality. Superb.
A youthful ruby/purple, the 2021 Pinot Noir Dutton-Jentoft is perfumed and spicy, with pure notes of ripe raspberry, fresh herbs, and roses. Medium-bodied and linear, with orange peel, clove, and forest herbs, fine tannins, and a bright driving acidity, it’s bright and zippy with pomegranate. Drink 2024-2034.
The 2021 Pinot Noir Ryan has a medium ruby color and autumnal scents of truffle and forest floor, cinnamon and Earl Grey tea leaves complementing a core of wild berry fruit. (In 2021, the wine comes from the Dutton-Jentoft and Widdoes vineyards rather than 100% from Jentoft as in previous vintages.) The medium-bodied palate is supple and detailed with a concentrated core of mineral-driven fruit. It has a silky texture, energetic acidity and a long, layered finish. This is so delicious and very easy to drink!
