Tasting notes
Composed of 76% Sauvignon Blanc, 9% Sauvignon Gris and 15% Sémillon fermented 15% in new oak, 13% in neutral oak, 31% in stainless steel and 41% in concrete, the 2013 Sauvignon Blanc Mt. Veeder simply sings of white peaches, mandarin peel, lime cordial and cedar chest with wafts of orange blossom and acacia honey. Medium-bodied, very elegantly crafted and yet incredibly intense, the citrus flavors are beautifully defined by a wicked acid backbone and it finishes long and steely. Just getting into its groove, it should continue to drink for 6-8 years.

The 2013 Mt. Veeder Sauvignon Blanc is tense and brilliant. Green apple, pear, flowers and mint race from the glass in this energetic, nicely balanced white. The textured, expressive finish is pure class. Dollops of Semillon and Sauvignon Gris round out the blend in a hugely appealing white to drink now and over the next few years.
