Tasting notes
Made with the goal of a larger production, more accessible cuvée, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Vaso is a beauty, especially in the vintage. It’s currently sourced all from estate fruit, but this may change in the future. A medium to full-bodied, balanced, wonderfully textured and attractive Cabernet, it has textbook cassis and plum fruits, spice-laced notes of candied violets, sandalwood, chocolate, and flowery incense, loads of fruit, and the class to drink beautifully for 10-15 years, although there’s no need to delay gratification.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Vaso is a gorgeous, boisterous wine. This plump, juicy Cabernet offers tons of immediacy and appeal. The Vaso might not have the complexity or layers of the other wines in the range, still it is incredibly delicious and inviting. The 2017 is such an easy wine to drink. The absence of fruit from Hershey is actually an advantage, as is the warm vintage, both of which result in an unusually approachable, upfront Cabernet that is already drinking well.
