Tasting notes
From an estate vineyard in Knights Valley, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 2% each Malbec and Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. Gentle herbal shadings accent black cherries, cassis and blackberries on the nose, punctuated by a hint of mocha. In the mouth, it's full-bodied and concentrated, framed by velvety tannins, finishing long and intense yet refined.

Coming from the Knights Valley appellation, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier is a beautiful, full-bodied, concentrated effort that has ample dark fruits (blackberries, currants), notes of baking chocolate, graphite, and savory herbs, ripe tannins, a broad, layered mouthfeel, and outstanding length. Give it 2-4 years and it's going to have at least two decades of prime drinking.
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier is one of the finest editions in recent memory. A blast of jammy fruit hits the palate first, followed by tons of savory/mineral Knights Valley notes that add nuance. All the signatures of this site are amplified in a potent, brooding wine that delivers the goods. The 2021 is a terrific Mon Chevalier.
