Tasting Notes
In the same ballpark, the 2017 Chardonnay Durell comes from a Sonoma Coast site and is a richer, fuller Chardonnay that offers lots of lemon curd, pineapple, and some orchard fruits as well as a kiss of smoky minerality. Medium-bodied, nicely textured, and beautifully balanced, the wine builds with time in the glass, displaying a beautiful mid-palate and a great finish. While it’s one of the richer wines in the lineup, it’s firmly in the new, racy, crisp style of the estate.

The 2017 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard is creamy, ample and luscious, all while retaining a distinct element of salinity that give freshness and also a sense of direction. Lemon oil, yellow orchard fruit, white flowers and mint add brightness to a complete and wonderfully alluring Chardonnay that dazzles. In 2017, the Durrell is a wine of real distinction and class.
About the producer

Kistler’s Chardonnays are some of the world’s most sought-after. This cult Californian producer crafts small volumes of exceptional, rich and generous, yet mineral and precise wines. With almost the entire production sold directly to their mailing list, the wines are also incredibly hard to find.
