Ruby-red. Vibrant floral and mineral-accented red fruit aromas emphasize raspberry and redcurrant. Impressively pure and fresh, with a nervy quality to the red berry flavors and a deep, smoky espresso note on the back end. This grew sweeter with air, the red berry flavors deepening but losing none of their precision or energy.

The elegant, polite, restrained, medium-bodied, pinched, finesse-style 2004 Ermitage Les Greffieux Vieilles Vignes reveals a deep ruby/purple color as well as polished, restrained, Pinot Noir-like aromas and flavors. It should drink well for 10-15 years. Importer: Paterno Imports, Lake Bluff, IL; tel. (847) 604-8900
