Score 90/100 · Drink 2010-2015, Robert Parker, Dec 2010
The 2009 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard has benefitted from early bottling. Its medium dark ruby hue is accompanied by scents of boysenberries, cherries and a touch of spice. A medium-bodied Pinot with lovely up-front fruit, impressive purity and no hard edges, it is a delicious, already complex red to drink over the next 4-5 years. It’s hard to believe that Barnett Vineyards is already 27 years old. Located on a beautiful hillside high on Spring Mountain, they have branched out from their original Cabernet program to include Chardonnays and, more recently, Pinot Noirs, all of which merit attention.
