Tasting notes
Consistent with the prior review, the 2006 Jonata Winery Todos (formerly known as El Corazon de Jonata), a kitchen sink blend of Syrah, Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, shows beautifully pure fruit, charcoal, dark chocolate, and smoked meat, full body, serious concentration, and a light, deft texture that carries into a very long finish. The acidity really shines here, and this should drink well for 10 to 15 years.

(a blend of syrah, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, sangiovese, petit verdot and viognier, for those keeping score at home) Bright ruby. Intensely perfumed nose offers cherry, fresh herbs, dried lavender and cured tobacco. Chewy red and dark berry flavors stain the palate, with dusty tannins adding grip. The tobacco note repeats strongly on the finish, which is pure and long. This is drinking well right now.
