Tasting notes
Vines planted in the 1940s on chalky soil. 50% whole bunch. Quite a deep crimson. Really mouth-filling and satisfying. Nicely concentrated and with a future. (JR)

From a 1.5-hectare parcel that's the first to ripen in most vintages, Fournier's 2020 Marsannay Chapitre Vieilles Vignes delivers aromas of sweet berries, spices, bay leaf and smoke. Medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, it's a velvety, textural wine of considerable charm and sensuality.
The 2020 Marsannay Le Chapitre has a concentrated nose with red cherries, wild strawberry and earthy aromas, a touch of black pepper emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, the 50% whole bunch lending more pepperiness towards the finish that just needs a little more persistence.
