Tasting notes
The 2014 Trianon put in a creditable performance out of barrel. Now in bottle, it continues to show well. It has a perfumed bouquet of red cherries, promegranate and cranberry interlaced with subtle blood orange scents. The palate is medium-bodied, perhaps just a little pinched on the entry, with firm but fine tannin and a splash of balsamic towards the structured finish. It does not possess the depth of a great vintage, but I admire the focus of this Saint Emilion and it will drink well for another decade.

The 2014 Trianon is a dark, powerful Saint-Émilion. Ripe dark cherry, sweet spice and copious French oak are some of the signatures. Although not especially complex, the 2014 will drink well pretty upon release because of its soft contours and lovely balance.
A bold, authoritative wine, the 2014 Trianon offers considerable potential. Dark blue and black-fleshed fruits, smoke and new leather are some of the notes that inform the explosive finish. The 2014 is a bit bombastic and raw today, but if it comes together a bit more in barrel it will come in at the top of my projected range.
