Tasting notes
From a south-facing, calcareous vineyard with vines that are 40+ years old, the 2018 Sancerre Le Paradis opens clear and with aromatic, ripe fruit on the slightly stony nose. Full-bodied, round and intense on the palate, this is a rich, intense, very dense and long yet remarkably elegant Sancerre with a long and well-structured finish. It is pretty attractive already now. Tasted in February 2021.

The 2018 Sancerre Blanc Paradis comes from stony soils and was fermented and aged in upfront oak tanks. Beautiful citrus and grapefruit notes, lots of minerality and an almost saltiness, medium-bodied richness, and a seamless, elegant, layered texture all make for a brilliant Sancerre. It shows the riper, exotic side to Sauvignon Blanc while still possessing beautiful purity and cut.
About the producer

Certified biodynamic, Domaine Vacheron is one of the star names in Sancerre. The estate crafts Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from single sites, using low yields and Burgundy-inspired winemaking to produce exceptionally pure, age-worthy expressions of the region that are some of its best.
