2020 Chassagne Montrachet Clos St Marc

The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Vergers Clos Saint-Marc 1er Cru has an effervescent, pretty bouquet with wild peach, quince and light mango aromas that are instantly seductive. There's fine delineation, plus the oak is well integrated. The palate is zesty and bright, certainly the peachiest of all the Chassage-Montrachet in this flight. In a sense, it comes across as a bit over-eager to please, a bit obvious. Pretty and seductive, the 2020 needs more complexity and intellect, though I like the coconut-tinged aftertaste.
