Score 91-93/100 · Drink 2027-2040, Neal Martin, Nov 2024
The 2023 Moulin-à-Vent La Roche comes from very shallow soils on pink sand and pink granite soils, with around 35% whole cluster and no punching down; it is aging in barrel, with bottling planned for next May. This is more appealing than the Vieilles Vignes on the nose, with brambly red berry fruit, touches of damp loamy soil and crushed stone. The palate is well balanced with orange rind and brown spices interlacing crunchy red berry fruit, quite complex with a touch of tea leaves on the finish. Excellent.
