If you asked me to pick one of my favorite "garagiste" crus, then it would be Gracia. Here, the 2007 Gracia puts in a very creditable performance. The nose is clean and fresh with small red cherries, hints of fruitcake and soy. The palate is crisp and fresh with a fine line of acidity and a pleasing saline finish. It has the substance to suggest that it will continue to give pleasure over the next 3-5 years, possibly longer. Tasted March 2015.

Full medium ruby. Blackberry and bitter chocolate aromas along with strong sexy oak. A chewy, intense midweight with nicely concentrated blackberry and espresso flavors sexed up by sweet oak. This rather voluminous wine spreads out to coat the palate, with a hint of stony minerality giving it shape. Finishes with fine-grained tannins, but I'd still give this youthfully bound-up wine a couple years of cellaring before pulling the cork.
(60% merlot and 40% cabernet franc; with 2007, Gracia bought another parcel of cabernet franc vines) Deep ruby. Rich aromas of blackberry, black raspberry, bitter chocolate and violet. Sweet and full, with good inner-mouth energy and some power. Began slightly bitter-edged but aeration brought sweeter blackberry and licorice flavors and more volume. Finishes with broad tannins. Elevage should bring more personality.
