Tasted blind. Deep crimson. Sweetly fragrant and only slightly leafy. More leafy and drying on the palate and a bit tough on the finish. (JH)

Sweet red cherries, hard candy, tobacco and spices lift from the glass in the 2013 Laroze. A soft, open, approachable wine, the 2013 should provide lovely drinking over the near and medium term. Today, the oak is a bit pronounced, though, so it will be interesting to see how things develop over the next year.
