Tasting notes
The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Clos des Guettes Blanc 1er Cru, partly affected by frost this year (25% lost), nevertheless has a superb bouquet with impressive mineralité and tension. It’s almost Chablis-like! The palate is very well balanced, concentrated and slightly honeyed, but there is countervailing tension running from start to finish. It feels creamy in texture but never labored or heavy. Excellent.

Aromas of buttered lemons, honeycomb and anise introduce the 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Guettes (Domaine Gagey), a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and expressive wine that's succulent but open-knit, concluding with good length on the finish. This will make friends in its youth.
About the producer

Louis Jadot is arguably the most consistent négociant house in Burgundy. It has managed to straddle both the entry-level and fine wine market, while retaining respect in both.
