Tasting notes
Firmer than Anne Morey's wines from Volnay and Pommard, the 2019 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Clos du Chapitre is nevertheless unusually elegant this year, delivering scents of cherries, plums, spices and loamy soil, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively and mineral profile.

The 2019 Aloxe-Corton Clos du Chapitre 1er Cru is compact on the nose, backward and broody at first, opening to reveal blackberry, bilberry and quite potent floral (iris and peony) aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy ripe tannins. A more generous cuvée among the Morey range, delivering a caressing, quite plush but structured finish that leaves a tingle of spice on the tongue. This is a fine Aloxe-Corton packed full of flavor.
