Neive. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Stalky and peppery nose, with the fruit slow to emerge. Concentrated laurel and cherry fruit on the palate, with slightly bitter, chewy tannins. (WS)

The 2020 Barbaresco Bassarin is a bit more supple and open at the moment, with ripe wild strawberry, fresh floral notes of roses, and herbes de Provence. Softly textured with fine, ripe tannins and juicy with mixed berries, it has a lot of charm and appeal up front, with fresh acidity to close it out. Drink over 2024-2034.
