The 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Sur Gamay mingles aromas of white flowers and pear with hints of fresh mint and almond paste. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and chiseled, it's bright and mineral, with racy acids and a charming core of fruit.

The 2019 Saint-Aubin Sur Gamay 1er Cru offers grass clipping and green apple scents on its somewhat reserved nose. The palate is clean and fresh with fine acidity, a touch of bitter lemon lending edginess towards the finish. Fine energy here, this should drink well for 6-10 years.

35- to 40-year-old vines. Four or five barrels. Just above the hamlet of Gamay. Tank sample. Clean and lively. Very juicy and clean. Good impact. Persistent. (JR)
