Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2017-2027, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2015
The 2014 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru les Vergelesses from Pavelot's negociant side (though it used to be produced by the domaine), has a slightly austere but well defined bouquet with hints of flint and cedar underneath the carapace of black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm but saturated tannin. There is a touch of rusticity here, but it builds nicely in the mouth and exhibits fine salinity on the aftertaste, beckoning you back for another sip.
