Blended of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc and aged in 60% new and 40% one-year-old barrels, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Louis has a nose of crushed red and black plums, warm black cherries and cedar with touches of dried sage and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied with a good amount of fruit and chewy tannins, it finishes on a stewed tea note.

A Stéphane Derenoncourt wine. Dark healthy crimson. Very sweet and jewelly. A bit aggressive in terms of texture. But not too forced… None of the excesses of some wines from this appellation. (JR)
