Tasting notes
Heidi and Bo Barrett have turned out a fabulous expression of the vintage in their 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from Calistoga, it offers up exuberant aromas of ripe cherries, fine sandalwood and a hint of dark chocolate. In the mouth, it's medium to full-bodied, ripe and silky in feel, with a lingering, elegant finish. Exhibiting impeccable balance and harmony, it's a terrific effort from a couple of Napa legends.

I also loved the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, another gem of a 2018. Possessing a deep purple hue as well as a pure, precise nose of cassis, crushed stone, graphite, lead pencil, and tobacco, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, elegant mouthfeel, supple yet present tannins, and a great finish. It's brilliant today, but this will age gracefully for two decades or more.
