Tasting notes
The 2019 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru takes this tasting into another register. Then again, this is Grand Cru we are talking about. The bouquet alone is huge. In 2019, the Corton-Renardes has so much density of fruit, but there is plenty of tannin and overall structure lurking beneath. Crushed flowers, spice, tobacco, cedar and dried herbs build into the intense, persistent finish. Superb.

Leroy's brilliant 2019 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru unfurls in the glass with aromas of orange oil, raspberries and cherries mingled with rose petals, rich spices and sweet soil tones. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, it's deep and concentrated, with velvety tannins, lively acids and a long, perfumed finish.
Three casks only in 2019 – far fewer than usual. Cask sample. Intense and massive on the nose. Gorgeous. Quite showy. Such richness and then finishes tight and tense. (JR)
