Tasting notes
Tighter on the nose than the regular Butteaux, conveying a deeper-pitched minerality along with notes of fresh peach and white truffle. Fresh and refined, but also boasts lovely creamy depth and subtle sweetness in the middle palate. A step up in breadth and power from the regular Butteaux, this is a distinctly serious wine with a firm mineral underpinning. The soil here is heavy clay with big rocks (but not much calcaire ), which Gicqueau-Michel says normally yields a more rustic style that needs time in bottle.

Medium yellow. Musky, ripe yellow fruits along with a hint of gunflint on the nose. Sweeter and plumper than the regular Butteaux but with a firmer spine of acidity giving the wine more inner-mouth lift. A more structured wine with a tactile phenolic quality to its lingering yellow fruit and spice flavors. A distinct step up in stuffing from the basic Butteaux offering.
