Tasting notes
Palish ruby with orange tinges. Distinct nose of spice while, with aeration, cherry notes slowly creep up. Candied, oaky notes too. Bags of stalky tannins and supple fruit with a hint of vanilla on the finish. Fun to drink and with succulent acidity. At its peak now, but will stay there for a while. (WS)

Castiglione Falletto, Serrlunga. Subdued, with hints of oak and lead pencil. Needs lots of air. Succulent and chewy but the fruit still needs to come out. Quite locked up for the warm 2007 vintage. (WS)
Mid ruby. Warm mulch, not to say compost notes. Lots of acidity and chew. Pretty uncompromising. A tad ungracious. (JR)
Good deep red. Very fresh aromas of black cherry and licorice. Sweet and seamless, with attractive reserve and lift to its dark fruit and menthol flavors. Less showy and complex today than the 2008 version but more serious. Finishes with solid but ripe tannins and excellent vinosity.
