(the estate's holdings feature clay-based soil at the base of the hill but more calcaire higher up): Bright, dark red with ruby highlights. A bit deeper-pitched on the nose than the Cent-Vignes, offering aromas of black cherry and spices. Chewier than the Cent-Vignes but without the sweetness or fruit intensity of that wine; the dark cherry flavor show menthol and herbal impingements. Finishes with dustier, drier tannins and a repeating green edge. Perhaps in an awkward stage today.
