Audoin’s Marsannay Blanc Au Champ Salomon opens your eyes to the quality that is achievable for white wines in the village. The nose alone tells you this is a very serious wine, concentrated and aromatic, with citrus fruit and white blossom. On the palate, it opens up, with a riper profile that would point any blind-taster to the Côte de Beaune. It’s beautifully layered, with stone fruit, pear and a mouthcoating creaminess towards the finish. The wine is salivating and offers a beautiful backbone of acidity that drives the finish. An impressive showing that is dangerously approachable.
