Tasting notes
The 2015 Barbaresco is a terrific introduction to the estate and their wines. Crushed flowers, sweet tobacco, cedar, spice and mint all lift from the glass in this very pretty and expressive Barbaresco. Open-knit and inviting, the 2015 also has enough tannic grip to hold and develop nicely for at least a handful of years.

Superb smoked-pork aromas on the nose, with an almost flinty reductive character. Deliciously rough-grained tannin and intense tar and bitter-chocolate flavours. Excellent length and intensity with all the classic hallmarks of great Nebbiolo – haunting, elaborate, delicious. (RH)
Bruno Rocca's beautiful 2015 Barbaresco sees fruit sourced from various parcels, including the lower part of the Currà cru and the Fausoni vineyard. The farming crew was especially careful not to pull too many leaves during this hot summer, thus safeguarding much of the wine's natural acidity. Those watchful farming procedures also did much to guarantee primary fruit freshness and purity. Those results include dark cherry and blackberry aromas with spicy herbal notes on the close. The wine's texture is silky, and the tannins show a mild point of dryness.
Just bottled a month ago, the 2015 Barbaresco offers lovely mid-palate depth and suppleness in a forward style that will provide considerable pleasure upon release. Pliant and inviting, with soft contours for a recently bottled wine, the 2015 makes its case with generous, radiant fruit and an inviting personality that will be hard to resist.
