Perfumed raspberries, blueberries, leafy herbs, Christmas spice, and spicy oak all emerge from the 2020 Château De Lamarque, a medium-bodied, nicely balanced, concentrated 2020 that shows the pure, focused, very classic style of the vintage. It's approachable today given its texture and ripe tannins, but I suspect this will evolve gracefully as well for at least a decade.
The 2020 Château de Lamarque has a tightly-wound bouquet with cedar-infused black fruit, touches of charred wood in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with nice sapidity, more compact than expected. Rather intense with fine tension towards the sapid finish. Give it time.
The 2020 de Lamarque is overripe and pruney. Harsh, angular contours are impossible to look past.
