Tasting notes
The 2023 Mâcon-Vergisson Sur La Roche, matured in 20% new oak, has a neutral wet stone- and Granny Smith-scented nose, becoming flintier in style with aeration. The palate is well balanced with bright acidity and good depth, not long, but it has the sapidity to tempt you back for more.

Made from a sector of the famous Sur La Roche vineyard that faces north, so entitled only to the Mâcon appellation, rather than the section facing south, which is classed as Pouilly-Fuissé Premier Cru. On limestone. Zesty and racy. Definitely tastes ‘cooler’ than the rest with a little saline quality. Racy and chewy. GV (JR)
The 2023 Mâcon-Vergisson La Roche, from vines on the top of the "roche" of Vergisson, unwinds in the glass with notes of pear and peach mingled with white flowers, buttery pastry and toasted nuts. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's deep and fleshy, concluding with a long, penetrating finish.
