Tasting notes
Glistening yellow. Aromas of oak-spiced orchard and pit fruits take on floral and anise notes as the wine opens up. Fleshy and seamless on the palate, offering subtly sweet apricot, pear nectar and melon flavors and a snap of spicy ginger. Finishes long and smoky, with repeating pit fruit character and a lingering suggestion of honey. One-third new oak.

The 2017 Condrieu La Caille is a rocking effort that's loaded with notions of white peach, white flowers, tangerine, and citrus. It's vibrant, fresh, and lively, with beautiful purity and elegance as well as a clean, crisp finish.
With scents of honey, butter and apricot cobbler, the 2017 Condrieu la Caille almost seems sweet, but this medium to full-bodied wine is dry, and those elements are balanced out by invigorating citrus-zest notes on the palate and especially on the lingering finish. Drink it over the next couple of years.
Tasted blind. Spicy nose with evident but well-integrated oak, and lots of ripe, peachy fruit on the palate. Smooth, fleshy, texture. (RH)
